Newsletter - January 19, 2012 Sign-Up Sheets for the 3rd Draw. It's hard to believe that the curling season is progressing so quickly, but it's now time to sign up to curl in the 3rd draw. Sign-up sheets for most or all of the leagues are now posted on the main bulletin board. This draw is scheduled to begin in mid-February and runs until the end of the season. The final day to sign up may vary between leagues, so don't miss your opportunity. Sign up now!
Open Ice Time - Saturdays from 10 AM to Noon. The Saturday morning "Open Ice Time" will continue for the balance of the year when the ice is available. Please check for the schedule posted in the "General" section of the bulletin board. There are many Saturday events scheduled particularly from the last week of January through the beginning of March, so please check the schedule carefully to avoid an unproductive trip to the club. The Dominion Senior Men's and Senior Women's Provincial Championships. As most of you know the Simcoe Curling Club has been awarded the opportunity to host these provincial championships from Wednesday February 22nd through Sunday February 26th. These events will feature some very high level curling. The winners of each of the Men's and Women's competitions will proceed to represent Ontario at the Canadian championships to be held in British Columbia in March. Detailed draw schedules will be posted at the club and on the Simcoe Curling Club website. Come on out and see some very good, entertaining curling! The kitchen and bar facilities will be open to support the curlers and spectators during the competition. Many thanks to Sandy Payne and her group of over 40 volunteers for their fabulous work in organizing this event. Volunteer Bartenders. You will notice that a number of new volunteer bartenders have begun supporting our bar operations. Thanks so much to these individuals for their time and their efforts.
